Wang Yi Responds to U.S. 'tariff stick' by Raising Five Questions
On Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi presented five questions to the global community in response to the U.S. policy of implementing extensive tariffs on its trade partners.

Wang emphasized the importance of decision-making for every country as the United States wields its "tariff stick" globally. This statement was made at a meeting of foreign ministers from BRICS nations and their partners in Brazil.
He posed several critical inquiries: "Shall we allow the world to regress into a lawless jungle where might makes right? Shall we accept that one country's self-interest may override the collective good of all others? Shall we stand idle as international rules are trampled and discarded? Will any nation truly be able to protect its own interests through compromise and flinching?"
He went on to ask, "The ultimate question remains: Shall we submit to a unipolar hegemony bent on dominance, or shall we forge a multipolar world built on equality and order?"
Wang reaffirmed the idea that history does not allow for regression and that justice resides in the hearts of people.
He made it clear that China's position regarding the trade war is firm: "If it is imposed upon us, we will fight to the end. If negotiation is sought, it must be based on equality and respect."
Additionally, he pointed out that China’s defense efforts go beyond its own rights, as they aim to protect the shared interests of all nations. According to Wang, China's advocacy is not limited to mutually beneficial cooperation and national dignity but emphasizes the need for a world characterized by fairness and justice.
