Trump Targets ‘Fake News Media’
US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made a controversial statement regarding the press just days ahead of the election, asserting that he wouldn’t mind if a potential assassin were to shoot through the “fake news” reporters who cover his events.

In his ongoing conflict with major U.S. news organizations, Trump has faced an assassination attempt during his campaign and experienced a related incident earlier this year when a pro-Ukraine activist was arrested on suspicion of planning to shoot him near his golf course.

During a campaign rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania on Sunday, with two days left before the election, Trump pointed out the gaps in the bullet-proof glass surrounding him, indicating that some reporters had an unobstructed view through one of the openings.

“I have this piece of glass over here, and I don’t have a piece of glass there,” Trump stated. “But all we have really over here is the fake news, right? And to get me, somebody would have to shoot through the fake news. And I don’t mind that so much. I don’t mind. I don’t mind,” he commented, prompting laughter from the audience.

At the same rally, Trump condemned the media, describing its organizations as filled with “seriously corrupt people,” specifically pointing to ABC, CBS, and NBC. “The media is so damn bad. It’s unbelievable,” he declared to his supporters.
