Harris to target Trump in San Francisco address
Kamala Harris is set to deliver a pointed critique of President Donald Trump’s administration as she makes her return to the national spotlight this week.

Anticipated to be her most substantial public remarks since her loss to Trump last fall, Harris plans to address voters in San Francisco on Wednesday, urging them to resist Trump’s economic policies and highlighting what she will describe as persistent threats to American institutions and global leadership, according to a source familiar with her plans, who requested anonymity for privacy. She is also expected to elaborate on her theme of “courage is contagious,” the source stated.

Her address will take place during a keynote speech at Emerge America’s 20th anniversary gala, an organization dedicated to training Democratic women candidates. Coincidentally, Trump is celebrating the first 100 days of his second term during the same week.

By the end of this summer, Harris is expected to make a decision regarding a potential run for California governor, as reported by PMG last month. Allies of Harris have indicated that if she pursues the gubernatorial office, it would likely preclude a presidential run in 2028, a possibility she is still contemplating. A poll conducted by PMG and the UC Berkeley Citrin Center revealed that California Democratic voters are largely supportive of her potential candidacy for governor.

Harris has a longstanding connection with Emerge America. One of the organization’s founders noted that Harris’ 2003 campaign for San Francisco district attorney, where she took on an incumbent white man, served as a key inspiration for establishing the group.
