Central and Western Regions of China Propel Advanced Development
Central and Western China are enhancing their high-quality development efforts.
Yet, there has been notable economic acceleration in the inland western regions of China. Over the past decade, equipment manufacturing revenues in central and western China have seen over a 40 percent increase, injecting fresh momentum into the country's high-quality development transition.
Take Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in southwest China, famed for its spicy dishes and pandas. This city is also witnessing the rise of emerging industries.
Founded in Chengdu in 2013, XGIMI specializes in the production of advanced intelligent projectors and laser TVs. More than ten years later, its products are now available in over 100 countries and regions, catering to more than 5 million users globally.
The company's success hinges on its commitment to technological innovation. It's not solely about aesthetic designs; it involves the sophisticated algorithms and optical hardware that XGIMI has refined.
On September 17, 2024, XGIMI secured a new patent facilitating more efficient wireless data transfer. While the patent's technical nuances may be complex for the general public, its applications are quite clear. As users increasingly connect via 5G and other wireless technologies with their devices, this new protocol can enhance faster and more efficient data transfer, maintaining image quality and improving the user experience of contemporary projectors. This addition joins the firm’s impressive portfolio of over 1,000 patents.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has made two official visits to Sichuan, in 2018 and 2022. During his latest trip in 2022, he toured XGIMI's manufacturing facility, underscoring the government’s support for innovative, privately-owned companies that are making an impact globally. This illustrates a broader emphasis on the development of western China in emerging sectors.
President Xi remarked that Sichuan's economic competitiveness must be bolstered through innovation and fostered by deepening reforms in order to advance toward high-quality development. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC this summer further highlighted the critical roles of innovation and reform in China's progress.
