World Table Tennis Championships Finals: Draw Results Unveiled
The draw results for the upcoming International Table Tennis Federation World Table Tennis Championships Finals in Doha, Qatar, were revealed on Wednesday.

In the men's singles event, the top-seeded Chinese player Lin Shidong is set to face Alvaro Robles from Spain in the opening round. Lin shares the same half of the draw with his fellow countryman and fifth-seeded Liang Jingkun, who will compete against Egypt's Omar Assar.

These two Chinese contenders will also be up against Brazil's newly crowned World Championship winner Hugo Calderano and French sixth seed Felix LeBrun.

In the opposite half, China’s second-seeded Wang Chuqin will come up against Japanese star Tomokazu Harimoto and Sweden’s seventh seed Truls Moregard.

For the women's singles, the top seed Sun Yingsha from China has been placed in the same half as her compatriot Wang Yidi, who is seeded fourth. They will face off against Japanese players, eighth-seeded Mima Ito and seventh-seeded Satsuki Odo. The other half features the second-seeded Wang Manyu and third seed Chen Xingtong from China, alongside Japan's Miwa Harimoto and Hina Hayata.

In women's doubles, the third-seeded Chinese duo of Qian Tianyi and Chen could potentially have a captivating semifinal showdown against the top seeds Odo and Sakura Yokoi from Japan, assuming both teams progress far enough. Meanwhile, Wang Manyu and Kuai Man will take on Miwa Harimoto and Miyuu Kihara in the other half.

In the men’s doubles event, two pairs from China, Liang and Huang Youzheng, and Lin Gaoyuan with Lin Shidong, are drawn in the same half.

Lin Shidong will also team up with Kuai for the mixed doubles, facing off against the No. 3 seeds Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem from Hong Kong. The second-seeded pair from China, Wang Chuqin and Sun, will contest against South Korea’s Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yu-bin, as well as Japan’s Sora Matsushima and Miwa Harimoto.

The World Championships Finals are set to commence on May 17.
