US intelligence documents leak reveals Israeli military strategies – CNN
The US has initiated an investigation following the online leak of highly classified intelligence reports regarding Israel's preparations for potential strikes on Iran, as reported by CNN on Saturday, citing three individuals familiar with the situation.

This apparent security breach comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, particularly after Israel vowed to respond to a wave of missiles launched by Tehran earlier this month.

On Friday, two documents were shared on the anonymous Telegram channel Middle East Spectator, which discusses regional events and is critical of Israel.

The first document, reportedly produced by the Pentagon’s National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, indicates that the Israel Defense Forces “continued key munitions preparations and covert UAV activity on October 16 almost certainly for a strike on Iran.”

The second document provides a comprehensive report on a “large-force employment exercise” conducted by the Israeli Air Force on October 15-16.

An unidentified US official confirmed the documents' authenticity to CNN, labeling the leak as “deeply concerning.” This official indicated that the ongoing investigation aims to identify those who had access to the classified files that ultimately surfaced on social media.

The Telegram channel responsible for publishing the documents issued a statement on Saturday, asserting that the files were provided by “an anonymous source on Telegram who refused to identify himself.” The channel also emphasized that it had “no connection to the original leaker.”

On October 1, Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in retaliation for the conflict in Gaza and the targeted killings of senior figures in pro-Palestinian militant groups Hamas and Hezbollah. According to the IDF, most of the incoming projectiles were intercepted, with only one reported casualty—a Palestinian man from the West Bank who died due to a falling missile fragment.

Israel has not disclosed the specifics regarding its retaliation plans, although some reports suggest that the IDF may target military installations in Iran rather than nuclear or oil-related facilities. The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday that decisions would be made “based on our national interest.”
