Xi Leads Meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee
On Monday, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, led a leadership meeting focused on evaluating a series of regulations pertaining to ecological and environmental protection inspections.

During the meeting, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee also reviewed a report on the fourth round of disciplinary inspection initiated by the 20th CPC Central Committee.
The attendees noted that the ecological and environmental protection inspections had yielded positive outcomes, prompting officials at all levels to execute their political responsibilities, addressing several significant cases of ecological and environmental damage, and resolving various prominent environmental complaints raised by the public.
The meeting underlined the importance of maintaining and reinforcing the Party's leadership in environmental protection inspections. It called for ongoing utilization of inspections as a vital tool and emphasized the need for greater accountability among localities and departments in fulfilling their political obligations to promote the development of a "Beautiful China."
Additionally, it highlighted the necessity of courage to confront challenging issues, to continuously identify and seriously address existing problems, and to enhance the effectiveness of implementing the Party Central Committee's directives concerning ecological civilization.
In relation to disciplinary inspections, the meeting identified several issues uncovered by inspection teams at central Party and state institutions, emphasizing the need for serious rectification.
Looking ahead, the meeting pointed out that 2025 is crucial for the expansion of disciplinary inspections to encompass all areas, stressing the importance of executing the Party Central Committee's decisions and plans to provide robust support for advancing Chinese modernization.
Other matters were also discussed during the meeting.
