CBA Match Update: Xinjiang Narrowly Defeats Nanjing, Zhejiang Ties with Qingdao in Playoffs
The Xinjiang Flying Tigers secured their place in the next round by defeating the Nanjing Monkey Kings, while the Zhejiang Golden Bulls managed to tie their series with the Qingdao Eagles during Monday's games in the Chinese Basketball Association Playoffs.

In a tight contest, all five Xinjiang starters registered double-digit scores, leading the Flying Tigers to a 113-108 victory, thereby clinching the series 2-0.

Nanjing came out strong, energized by their home crowd, and applied significant defensive pressure that resulted in turnovers for Xinjiang, which was without injured core guard Zhao Rui and key rotation center Li Yanzhe.

However, the dynamics shifted in the third quarter as the Flying Tigers unleashed a flurry of 3-pointers, connecting on 10 of 13 attempts from beyond the arc, which allowed them to build a nine-point lead headed into the final quarter. Despite facing elimination, the Monkey Kings attempted a late-game rally. Nonetheless, the last season's league runners-up managed to fend off the postseason newcomers thanks to their solid defensive rebounding, ensuring their victory.

Dedric Lawson was the standout for Xinjiang, scoring 24 points, while Qi Lin added 18. For Nanjing, Lin Wei topped the stats sheet with 24 points, eight rebounds, and 11 assists, and Zeng Fanri contributed 17 points and eight rebounds.

In another matchup, Damian Jones delivered a stellar performance for Zhejiang with a double-double, accumulating 24 points and 18 rebounds, helping his team secure a 104-81 win against Qingdao and evening the series at 1-1. Unfortunately for the Eagles, young prospect Yang Hansen fouled out early in the fourth quarter, ending his night with just two points and four rebounds in 24 minutes.

Looking ahead, Xinjiang is set to go up against the Liaoning Flying Leopards in the quarterfinals, while Qingdao will host Zhejiang for a decisive Game Three, with the winner earning the right to face the top-seeded Guangsha Lions.
