Vincent Kompany's team prepared for the match with a solid 3-1 victory over Augsburg, ensuring they maintain a six-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Moreover, Bayern Munich will take confidence from their impressive record, remaining unbeaten in their last 22 Champions League home matches.
On the other hand, Inter Milan faced a setback over the weekend as they let a two-goal lead slip, resulting in a 2-2 draw against Parma. Nevertheless, they are still well-positioned to contend for the Serie A title and are also active in the Coppa d'Italia.
The two teams last clashed during the group stages of the 2022-23 tournament, where Bayern emerged victorious, winning 2-0 in both encounters. Inter, however, progressed to the final, where they were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Manchester City, who had previously eliminated Bayern in the quarter-finals.
"This game is about moments. It can be a standard situation for us, whatever, but in your moments you just have to be there. We can talk about the tactical football, what they do well, but there's also a certain character, heart, emotion that goes with it. We have that in our last round because it's now game 13 and 14 against Inter Milan. So we've already played a few games in the Champions League and we showed in the last round against Leverkusen that we can do that. The important thing for me tomorrow is to be mentally ready and to show personality," remarked Bayern's coach Vincent Kompany.
"Tomorrow we play against a very, very strong team who are favorites for the title along with Real Madrid. But we'll approach the game as we've always done. We know what we've done so far to get here and we're going to do our best, try our best, in a game between two great teams which deserve to be here. And despite all the injuries there are on both sides, for Bayern and us, we will try to give our best here with a cohesive team performance," stated Inter's coach Simone Inzaghi ahead of the highly anticipated match.
