The Industrial Internet employs digital technologies including the internet of things, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence to create a comprehensive service platform for industrial enterprises, addressing the entire lifecycle from design through production to management. Xu emphasized that with the connectivity brought by the Industrial Internet, new manufacturing and service systems have emerged, leading to major improvements in the manufacturing sector.
For instance, in the automotive industry, one company has utilized the Industrial Internet to integrate data from more than 2,000 global parts suppliers, resulting in a 20 percent reduction in the supply cycle and completely eliminating parts allocation errors.
In the garment industry, another enterprise has harnessed the Industrial Internet to analyze consumer demand, which has led to a decrease in inventory turnover days and an increase in production efficiency that is three times higher than that of its competitors.
With eight years of development behind it, the Industrial Internet has been integrated into 49 sectors of the national economy, encompassing all major industrial categories, with the core industry now valued at 1.53 trillion yuan, as noted by Xu.
Additionally, DeepSeek's open-source AI model has gained widespread adoption in various fields such as pharmaceuticals, culture, and tourism, and it is anticipated to see significant expansion into the industrial sector in the future. Xu added that the close convergence of AI with the Industrial Internet will further accelerate the digital and intelligent transformation of manufacturing.
