Public relations experts and AI specialists gathered on Saturday at the 2024 Conference of China Public Relations for Development in Beijing to discuss the role of public relations in enhancing social governance.

Guo Weiming, president of the China Public Relations Association, underscored the crucial function of public relations as both a management and communication discipline in modernization efforts. He stated that maximizing the unique advantages and functions of public relations and integrating them into the modernization of social governance is essential for implementing the new development concept, advancing high-quality development, and promoting greater openness.

In response to evolving circumstances, Guo called on the public relations industry to take advantage of emerging opportunities and challenges, emphasizing its role in building social consensus and fostering a positive external environment.

Jiang Tao, co-founder and senior vice president of the intelligent speech giant iFLYTEK, remarked on the dual nature of artificial intelligence as it pertains to public relations and social governance, noting that it presents both opportunities and challenges. He highlighted the importance of utilizing AI technology to boost the efficiency, collaboration, and transparency of social governance, thereby enhancing the overall well-being of the populace.

Wang Yiming, vice chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, emphasized the impact of rapid advancements in new models such as AI and "5G+ industrial Internet" on development. He pointed out that these developments have fostered the emergence of new industries like intelligent and service-oriented manufacturing, which are key drivers of innovative productive forces.

Looking ahead, Wang urged the need to cultivate digital economy sectors, strategically plan for future industries, and integrate digital technologies to modernize traditional industries and improve digital information infrastructure.

The conference, organized by CPRA, also showcased exemplary public relations cases and demonstration projects for 2024.
