Established in 2001, the BFA is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization dedicated to promoting regional economic integration and aligning the development goals of Asian countries. The conference, which will take place from March 25 to 28, is themed "Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future."
During the opening ceremony, Ding emphasized the considerable advancements made in fostering an Asian community with a shared future over the last decade.

He noted the strengthening of regional economic integration and the consistent increase of Asia's share in the global economy.
"Our world is experiencing far greater instability and uncertainty," Ding remarked, urging collaborative efforts to tackle global challenges, create a shared Asian home, and pave the way for a brighter future for Asia and beyond. He underscored the necessity of enhancing solidarity and cooperation through greater mutual trust.
Ding advocated for the promotion of Asian values centered on peace, cooperation, inclusiveness, and integration, emphasizing the importance of respecting each other's core interests and major concerns. He highlighted the critical role of facilitating economic globalization through openness and integration, calling for collective action to protect the free trade system, support open regionalism, and firmly oppose protectionism in trade and investment.
Stressing the need for prosperity and development through mutual benefits and win-win cooperation, Ding pointed out the importance of fulfilling the Global Development Initiative and actively enhancing people's livelihoods. He also underlined the need to maintain tranquility and stability via peaceful coexistence, reaffirming the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security in Asia. Ding insisted on the importance of ensuring that Asia remains a region of peace and stability.
Concerning the Chinese economy, Ding stated that the country's economic performance is stable, with a favorable outlook. He indicated that the nation is committed to achieving its goals and tasks for this year's economic and social development. "China is confident of realizing these goals and will contribute to development in Asia and the world," he declared.
Ding noted that China's innovation-driven growth is gaining momentum, creating opportunities not only for China but also for Asia and the world. He characterized opening up as a defining feature of Chinese modernization and promised that China will continue to open its doors wider, regardless of changes in the external environment.
