Survey: More than Half of Ukrainians Worry Trump Could Result in Unfair Peace
A recent poll reveals that over 50 percent of Ukrainians are skeptical about U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace initiatives, expressing concerns that these efforts may culminate in an unjust resolution to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict,...

Trump has frequently asserted his intention to swiftly resolve the three-year-long war. However, upon taking office, he has previously placed blame on Kyiv for the situation and temporarily halted military assistance and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology conducted the survey involving 1,326 individuals living in Ukrainian-controlled areas from March 12 to March 22.
The findings indicate that 32 percent of participants anticipate "rather an unjust peace, although with the fulfilment of some of Ukraine's demands," while 22 percent believe a "totally unjust peace" is likely.
Only 3 percent of those surveyed expressed belief in Trump’s ability to achieve a just peace; meanwhile, 15 percent expected a "rather just peace, although with some concessions to Russia."
These results suggest a growing pessimism among Ukrainians regarding Trump’s peace efforts since his inauguration in January.
In comparison, a December survey reported that 20 percent of respondents expected a "rather unjust peace," with 11 percent anticipating a totally unjust resolution, according to KIIS's previous findings.
"Even before 2025, there was some disappointment with the U.S. actions in Ukraine, and the Trump administration is quite decisively cementing the disapproval of the U.S.," KIIS's executive director, Anton Hrushetskyi, stated.
Additionally, the survey uncovered that 67 percent of Ukrainians feel that the U.S. is growing fatigued with Ukraine and is pressuring the country to make concessions, as reported by KIIS.
