CSL summary: Shandong rally from a three-goal deficit to shock Meizhou
Shandong Taishan staged a remarkable comeback from three goals down to defeat Meizhou Hakka 4-3 on the road, which dropped the hosts to eighth place following three matches in the new Chinese Super League season.

Meizhou established dominance with three goals within 34 minutes, scored by Yue Tze-Nam, Yang Chaosheng, and Rodrigo Henrique, putting Shandong in a precarious situation. However, just before halftime, Valeri Qazaishvili found the back of the net in stoppage time, giving Shandong a crucial boost as they headed into the break at 3-1.

In the second half, Shandong introduced Li Yuanyi and Xie Wenneng to intensify their efforts, and the change proved effective. In the 54th minute, a corner taken by Li was expertly volleyed in by Brazilian striker Zeca, narrowing the gap to 3-2.

As the clock wound down, Zeca struck again in the 88th minute, this time heading in a cross from Liu Yang to level the score. The climax occurred in the eighth minute of stoppage time when Li delivered a perfectly-weighted free kick, which Brazilian defender Gazal capitalized on to secure Shandong's incredible turnaround with a 4-3 victory, marking their second consecutive win.

In other action, Beijing Guoan faced Chengdu Rongcheng and battled to a 1-1 draw during their first home game of the season. The pre-match festivities included a heartfelt retirement ceremony for veteran player Yu Dabao, a stalwart for Guoan who played 229 matches over nearly a decade.

In the 12th minute, a brilliant pass from Guoan defender Li Lei set up Yang Liyu, who was brought down in the penalty area by Yuan Mincheng. After a lengthy VAR review lasting over three minutes, referee Ma Ning awarded a penalty, which Fabio converted to give Guoan the lead.

However, the situation shifted in the 65th minute when Beijing captain Michael Ngadeu committed a foul against Felipe. After being notified by VAR, the referee reviewed the incident and upgraded Ngadeu's yellow card to a red, leaving Guoan with ten men.

Under increasing pressure, Guoan conceded in the 78th minute when Issa Kallon's misplayed cross allowed Felipe to score, bringing the match to a 1-1 draw. This outcome resulted in Guoan recording their second consecutive stalemate, dropping them to seventh place.

Meanwhile, Dalian Yingbo achieved a convincing 2-0 victory over Changchun Yatai for their first win in the Chinese top flight, and Shanghai Shenhua recovered from an early deficit to narrowly defeat hosts Henan FC 3-1.
