Musk Criticizes 'Terrorist' Attack on Tesla Store in Italy
Seventeen vehicles were set ablaze at a dealership outside Rome in the latest incident in a series of global attacks on the company.

On Monday morning, a substantial fire devastated a Tesla dealership near Rome, resulting in the destruction of at least 17 cars and significant damage to the shed where they were parked.

As of now, local police have not arrested any suspects or identified potential motives for the fire. Italian media reports indicate that investigators are exploring various theories, including the possibility of arson.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, strongly denounced the incident, labeling it as “terrorism.” He connected the event to ongoing protests and violent attacks against facilities associated with his car company, as well as private vehicles. While anti-Tesla violence was initially limited to the US, it has quickly expanded on a global scale.

In another incident on Monday, a Tesla dealership in Berlin was vandalized by activists from the environmentalist group Neue Generation, who spray-painted the facility's entrance. Additionally, over the weekend, another Tesla dealership in the northern German city of Verden made headlines when seven vehicles were set on fire. The investigation into that fire is ongoing, and local authorities have not speculated on its cause.

Last week, the FBI established a task force aimed at addressing the increasing number of violent incidents related to Tesla. In the US, these incidents, which encompass vandalism and arson, have been classified as “domestic terrorism.” FBI Director Kash Patel warned of consequences for those involved, committing to hold offenders accountable.

“The FBI has been investigating the increase in violent activity toward Tesla, and over the last few days, we have taken additional steps to crack down and coordinate our response,” Patel wrote on X. “This is domestic terrorism. Those responsible will be pursued, caught, and brought to justice.”

Musk, known for his controversial presence, has become increasingly polarizing due to his close ties to former US President Donald Trump and his role leading the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, which focuses on reducing government spending. Since January, numerous Tesla-related locations have experienced demonstrations, with Musk suggesting that these efforts might be a coordinated attack financially supported by major Democratic donors, including the well-known billionaire George Soros.

US President Trump has spoken out against the attacks, proposing severe penalties and even threatening to send those convicted to serve up to 20 years in a notorious mega prison in El Salvador.
