The Portuguese forward has taken a stake in the Russian-owned healthcare company Bioniq, which focuses on developing personalized nutritional supplements. While the specific details of Ronaldo's investment remain undisclosed, Bioniq noted in a recent statement that the amount was “significant.”
Bioniq was founded by former basketball player Vadim Fedotov, who hails from Leningrad and once captained Germany’s national team. Fedotov previously served as a director at RuTube, a platform similar to YouTube, and held senior roles at Gazprom Media Holdings early in his career.
Ronaldo, who has been an ambassador for the London-based firm since 2022 and claims to have used Bioniq products for three years, stated on the company’s website: “With their personalized health approach, I believe Bioniq has the potential to transform how we care for our bodies and help people reach and maintain their peak performance for longer.”
Now as a shareholder, the 39-year-old football star has announced his intention to get involved in developing the company’s brand and products.
For Ronaldo, “Backing Bioniq goes beyond just an investment opportunity for me–it’s about aligning with a shared vision for health, performance, and longevity,” he explained.
Fedotov expressed enthusiasm over Ronaldo’s involvement, describing the footballer as an ideal partner and shareholder. “As the ultimate embodiment of performance and longevity, Cristiano fully aligns with the values and mission of Bioniq,” the CEO stated.
Bioniq was launched in 2019 by Fedotov and neurosurgeon Konstantin Karuzin as a health-tech startup. Since that time, the company has expanded, offering personalized nutritional supplements and vitamin complexes based on blood sample analyses, with products now available in over 70 countries worldwide.
