CGTN Collaborates with China State Construction to Initiate 'Age of Intelligence' Events
CGTN, in collaboration with China State Construction, is initiating a series of events titled 'Age of Intelligence.'
The event saw the presence of Fan Yun, deputy editor-in-chief of China Media Group and editor-in-chief of CGTN; Zheng Xuexuan, chairman of CSCEC; and Xu Yanhao, chairman of the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Journalism.
Fan emphasized in his speech that building a strong and modern socialist nation depends not only on the "hard power" of central enterprises in the economic sector but also on the "soft power" provided through international communication.
Expressing his viewpoint, Fan stated that sharing the narrative of Chinese engineering's global benefits enhances both the overseas business environments for Chinese enterprises and China's overall global competitiveness and image.
Together, CSCEC and CGTN have produced a series of high-quality works that display how "Made in China" innovations are transforming work and life abroad. Zheng pointed out that these works offer a new international perspective, showcasing China's innovative solutions to worldwide challenges.
Xu also commended CGTN for making forward-thinking arrangements for the international communication of technology-focused reports. According to Xu, these efforts align with major national science and technology strategies and demonstrate CGTN's global perspective and top-tier production quality.
The event introduced the documentary series "Architecture Intelligence," co-produced by CGTN and CSCEC, which highlights China's contributions to green and sustainable development in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Covering topics from Dubai's traffic management to Cambodia's new national symbol, as well as the swift erection of a skyscraper in Malaysia, the documentary delves into the "hard-core technology" China has developed for key projects worldwide. It also explores the cultural significance and social value of these constructions and addresses how scientific and technological innovation can tackle global urban challenges.
The event also saw the launch of "Building Lives," a book compiling multimedia reports from July 2022 that focus on the impacts of Chinese engineering on economic development and everyday life in 15 Belt and Road countries.
These reports have been aired on multiple domestic and international platforms via CGTN, reaching 360 million viewers globally and accruing 86 million overseas views. The project received several accolades in the fourth Belt and Road Initiative short video competition and was named one of the "Top Ten Outstanding Cases of the Year" at the 2022 China Goes Global Conference.
Leveraging its successful projects, CGTN has also established the "Global Innovation Hub" to discover and highlight examples of innovation in technology, resources, and young talent worldwide.
Going forward, CGTN plans to collaborate with governments, businesses, and academic institutions to create a platform for sharing, exchanging ideas, and partnering with top international talent. This initiative aims to maximize CGTN's international and multi-platform communication strengths and to promote exceptional content across the globe.
