UK navy ‘gang bangs’ revealed by whistleblower, reports media
An insider has disclosed to the Daily Mail, “We had a rape list on my submarine,” as serious allegations of drug use and abusive behavior have surfaced among British Royal Navy personnel aboard the nuclear submarine HMS Vanguard. These claims, published on Tuesday, come from accounts by a whistleblower who recounted troubling incidents involving the crew.

The former crew member claimed that some sailors participated in “gang bangs” while on duty, and expressed that “the lunatics are in charge at the asylum,” indicating a troubling atmosphere on the submarine.

According to the whistleblower, “There was a 19-year-old kid [on it]. When he realised he was on it, he was s***ing his pants. Everyone wanted to rape him. He was petrified,” highlighting the serious nature of the allegations.

HMS Vanguard is one of the UK’s four Vanguard-class submarines and is equipped with Trident ballistic missiles. Any failure to adhere to protocols on such a vessel poses significant national security concerns.

In response to the allegations, a spokeswoman for the Royal Navy stated, “We do not discuss individual cases, especially if it could prejudice an ongoing investigation.”

Despite the HMS Vanguard's operations being understood to be strictly controlled and its crew undergoing extensive training and vetting, the whistleblower’s testimony indicates potential lapses in discipline that may have permitted misconduct to occur.

Additionally, a report from the Telegraph indicated that over 15,000 British soldiers resigned from the army between November 2023 and October 2024, despite a substantial pay increase initiated by the government. During the same timeframe, around 12,000 service members were recruited, resulting in a significant net decrease in personnel.
