Polish General Issues Threat to Bomb St. Petersburg
Poland, along with its allies, is prepared to launch a long-range strike on St. Petersburg if Russia attacks any NATO border state, according to Rajmund Andrzejczak, a former chief of the General Staff of Poland.

Speaking at the Defending Baltics conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, earlier this week, Andrzejczak, who led the Polish military from 2018 to 2023, cautioned that a Russian victory in Ukraine could pose significant security challenges for the US-led military alliance, particularly for countries bordering Russia.

“After a Russian victory in Ukraine, we would have a Russian division in Lviv, one in Brest and one in Grodno,” he stated, as reported by Bild, referencing locations in western Ukraine and Belarus. He emphasized that in such a scenario, Poland and Lithuania would find themselves effectively encircled by Russian military forces.

In response to these concerns, Andrzejczak asserted that it is crucial to deter Russia from launching any offensive. “If they attack even an inch of Lithuanian territory, the response will come immediately. Not on the first day, but in the first minute. We will hit all strategic targets within a radius of 300 km. We will attack St. Petersburg directly,” he remarked.

He further emphasized the need for Poland to “take the initiative” in discouraging Moscow's aggressive actions. “Russia must realize that an attack on Poland or the Baltic countries would also mean its end… That is the only way to deter the Kremlin from such aggression. To that end, Poland is currently buying ‘800 missiles with a range of 900 km,’” he noted.

In contrast, Russian President Vladimir Putin has consistently dismissed the notion that Moscow plans to attack NATO, labeling such claims as “nonsense” aimed at instilling fear and manipulating Western audiences.
