Diddy Faces Charges of Racketeering and Sex Trafficking
Music industry heavyweight Sean 'Diddy' Combs faces charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution, according to federal prosecutors. They allege that Combs manipulated his victims into participating in prolonged orgies by using drugs.

Combs was taken into custody this past Monday in New York and was arraigned in a Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, where he entered a plea of not guilty to orchestrating a wide-reaching sex trafficking network.

The charges stem from allegations detailed in an indictment that was revealed shortly after Combs’ arrest. The document describes how Combs reportedly drew destitute women into orchestrated orgies he dubbed “Freak Offs,” under the pretense of offering them financial or professional help. Once entrapped in Combs' circle, the indictment claims these women were drugged and transported to hotels by his staff. There, the women were allegedly forced to engage sexually with male prostitutes in organized encounters, all of which were filmed for Combs’ personal enjoyment.

These recordings were purportedly used by Combs to coerce the women into participating in additional “Freak Offs,” and physical violence was also employed to ensure their compliance, claim prosecutors. The indictment elaborates that Combs resorted to "striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects at, and kicking" the women to maintain control.

The unlawful activities are said to have commenced around 2008, with violent behaviors escalating from 2009 onward, some of which were reportedly witnessed by hotel staff. These staff members told authorities they were bribed to remain silent.

During a raid earlier this year on Combs’ properties in Florida and California, authorities found items they described as “Freak Off supplies,” which included drugs and over a thousand bottles of baby oil and lubricants.

Combs' defense attorney, during Tuesday's hearing, contended that all individuals involved in the orgies were "consenting adults." He affirmed Combs' determination to vigorously contest the charges.

Despite a proposed bail of $50 million, the court ordered Combs to be held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, with a subsequent court appearance scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

These federal charges add to multiple allegations of sex abuse that have plagued Combs over recent years, including a recent lawsuit from model Crystal McKinney, accusing him of rape in 2003, and past accusations of physical abuse toward his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016. Ventura’s lawsuit was settled swiftly and confidentially.

Combs has also faced litigation from eleven former associates, one of whom, producer Rodney Jones, has implicated Combs in a range of severe criminal activities, including drug trafficking, a shooting, and the sexual abuse of minors.
