Chinese premier vows wider opening for foreign-invested companies
Chinese Premier Li Qiang announced on Monday that China aims to increase its openness to the global community, irrespective of shifts in the international landscape.
Li made these comments during a meeting with select exhibitors and buyers at the seventh China International Import Expo, which included companies such as Synopsys, General Electric Company, MSD, and China FAW Group Co., Ltd.
The foreign-funded companies present at the meeting voiced their optimism regarding the Chinese market, indicating plans to expand their operations and increase investments in the country.
Despite a sluggish global economic recovery, Li pointed out that China's overall economic activities have remained stable and have made progress. He emphasized that the Chinese market continues to be one of the best options for global enterprises.
The premier stated that China will persist in easing market access and facilitate the orderly expansion of opening up in areas such as telecommunications, education, culture, and healthcare.
He committed to enhancing the business environment and ensuring equal opportunities for access to production factors, qualification licensing, and participation in government procurement, among other aspects.
Li expressed his aspiration for China to evolve into not just a destination for foreign exports, but also a hub for investment and entrepreneurship, thereby strengthening ties between China and the global market.
He conveyed his hope that both Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs will steadfastly support economic globalization, collaborate on technological advancements and industrial upgrades, and create new growth drivers for the global economy.
