Boxing legend retaliates following sexual abuse accusations
George Foreman is one of the most famous heavyweights in boxing history.

The former world heavyweight champion boxer, now 74, has initiated counter legal action against a woman who has accused him of sexual abuse over 40 years ago, when she was a minor.

Foreman, known for his iconic fight against Muhammad Ali in "The Rumble in the Jungle," claims that he is the target of an extortion attempt. In a statement released last summer, he referred to the allegations of sexual abuse from two women in the 1970s as “baseless threats and lies.”

On Monday, Foreman filed a counter lawsuit against one of the accusers, identified only as Gwen H., who alleges she was groomed and ultimately abused by him during her underage years.

According to legal documents reviewed by TMZ Sports, Foreman's legal team acknowledges that they cannot sue the woman based on the allegations outlined in her own lawsuit. However, they assert the right to pursue legal action due to a news conference held by the alleged victim three months after she filed her claim.

The countersuit claims that the accusations against Foreman are “entirely fabricated” and asserts that there is “zero corroborating evidence in the form of documents, photographs, letters, or witnesses to support… false claims against Foreman.”

Reports indicate that Gwen H.'s father was employed by Foreman at the time of the alleged incidents, and she asserts that Foreman threatened her with her father's job if she spoke out about the alleged abuse.

Additionally, Foreman alleges that Gwen H. had requested $12 million to prevent her from pursuing legal action. He also claims to have experienced “anxiety, sleeplessness, worry, shock and humiliation” since her news conference. He is seeking unspecified damages in his lawsuit.

Foreman's professional boxing career commenced in 1969, and he retired in November 1997 with a record of 76-5. He made history as the oldest world heavyweight champion when he defeated Michael Moorer for the title in 1995 at the age of 46 years, five months, and 18 days.
