FBI: US Teen Planned Trump Assassination and Escape to Ukraine
Investigators are working under the belief that Nikita Casap killed his parents to fund an elaborate plan to assassinate the US president and frame Russia for the crime.

The 17-year-old from Wisconsin was charged with first-degree murder last month after police discovered the bodies of his mother and stepfather, both shot in the head, in their home in Waukesha. Following the incident, Casap fled to Kansas in a stolen vehicle, carrying $14,000 in cash, passports, and the family dog. During a traffic stop, law enforcement also found an unloaded revolver, ammunition, and two cell phones.

“Casap appears to have written a manifesto calling for the assassination of the President of the United States. He was in touch with other parties about his plan to kill the President and overthrow the government of the United States,” states an unsealed warrant from the FBI. The document adds, “The killing of his parents appeared to be an effort to obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary to carry out his plan.”

The FBI's investigation indicates that Casap partially financed a drone and explosives he intended to use as a “weapon of mass destruction.” The affidavit specifies that this equipment was meant to facilitate the planned attack.

Messages on his phone revealed discussions about the plot with an unidentified contact on Telegram. On January 21, Casap inquired, “What country will be blamed for the crime?” to which the response was, “Russia will be blamed for it, this is the goal.” Additionally, his phone held conversations with someone using a Ukrainian number, apparently outlining a strategy for escaping after the attack. He asked, “How long will I need to hide before I will be moved to Ukraine? 1-2 months?” and expressed concern about life after the attack, saying, “So while in Ukraine, I’ll be able to get a normal job and have a normal life? Even if when it’s found out I did it?”

Agents also located a three-page manifesto titled “Accelerate the Collapse,” produced on February 28, which advocated for political violence, including the assassination of the president, as a means to incite societal chaos and “protect the white race.” It argued for the necessity of hastening the collapse of what it termed “Jewish-occupied governments,” starting with the United States. Casap contended, “The white race cannot survive unless America collapses.”

An excerpt from the manifesto elaborated on targeting Trump: “As to why, specifically Trump, I think it’s obvious. By getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president, that is guaranteed to bring in some chaos — and not only that, but it will further bring into the public the idea that assassinations and accelerating the collapse are possible things to do.”

Currently, Casap is being held on $1 million bail and faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, along with seven additional felony charges, including hiding a corpse and identity theft. He is scheduled to appear in court again on May 7.
