Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of fostering a community with a shared future with neighboring countries and is committed to exploring new avenues for engagement in China's neighborhood initiatives.

Xi, who also serves as the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the chairman of the Central Military Commission, made these statements during a central conference focused on work related to neighboring nations, which took place in Beijing over two days, from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Key figures in attendance included members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee such as Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, and Li Xi, along with Vice President Han Zheng.
In his address, Xi provided a comprehensive overview of the accomplishments and insights gained from China's neighborhood initiatives in the new era. He conducted a scientific analysis of the current landscape and outlined the objectives, tasks, strategies, and measures for the upcoming phase of neighborhood engagement.
During the meeting, Premier Li Qiang underscored the importance of fully embracing the spirit of Xi's significant speech and diligently executing the various responsibilities associated with neighboring countries.
The conference underlined that China's extensive territory and lengthy borders render its neighborhood crucial for national development and prosperity, play a vital role in ensuring national security, represent a key focus in the country's overall diplomatic efforts, and serve as an important connection in fostering a community with a shared future for humanity.
It was also emphasized that a global perspective should be applied to neighboring regions, encouraging a stronger sense of responsibility and mission in advancing China's neighborhood initiatives.
