Another senior political aide to leave the Biden administration
Jordan Finkelstein is set to join Anita Dunn at the leading pro-Harris super PAC.
These sources indicated that Finkelstein is anticipated to join senior adviser Anita Dunn at the super PAC Future Forward. In his new role, he will act as an adviser as the organization plans to initiate a major TV advertising campaign, with a budget exceeding $300 million, to support Vice President Kamala Harris, now seen as the likely Democratic nominee.
Finkelstein’s departure, following closely on the heels of Dunn's announcement of her own departure, could signal further changes within the White House, especially after Biden's decision to not seek reelection ten days ago. This shift may lead some political aides to redirect their focus towards Harris’ campaign and the broader Democratic Party framework surrounding it.
Serving as a special assistant to the president and Dunn’s chief of staff, Finkelstein functioned as a key liaison among various White House communications teams. He played a crucial role in organizing messages for Biden’s campaign launch last spring, responding to Supreme Court decisions, and managing the rollout of major legislative agendas.
“Jordan has served President Biden since joining his campaign in 2019 and is as close to indispensable as any person I have ever worked with,” Dunn stated. “He is a good colleague whose work ethic, judgment and intelligence are matched only by his even temperament.”
Administration officials noted that Finkelstein also acted as a bridge to external groups. During Biden’s 2020 campaign, he was a prominent member of the 70-person advertising team.
Several White House officials, including Mike Donilon, one of Biden’s most trusted aides, praised Finkelstein.
“From the early days of the Biden campaign in 2019, Jordan demonstrated political aptitude and skill beyond his years,” Donilon remarked. “President Biden, and his whole team, has benefited from his contributions.”
