Trump says, "We can’t have the world laughing at us"
America is no longer respected, the former president and Republican candidate has said at a campaign event in the state of Pennsylvania.

The US has lost respect on the world stage and has become a laughing stock, former President Donald Trump stated during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, which also marked his return to the location of a past assassination attempt in July.

At the event, the Republican nominee pledged to rejuvenate the US economy, tackle violent crime, and take a firmer stance on illegal immigration at the southern border.

“Everything has to be the best,” he emphasized. “We have to have the best schools. We have to have strong borders. We don’t want bad people coming in and hurting us.”

Trump declared, “You deserve a nation that builds things again, makes things better, that aims for the stars once more, and that once again, commands respect, and we want to get respect like we had it four years ago.”

He reflected on America's previous standing, noting, “The entire world respected us. They respected us. They respected us more than they’ve ever respected us, and now they laugh at us. We can’t have them laugh at us.”

Throughout his campaign, Trump has criticized President Joe Biden and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for what he describes as their “weak” administration, which he claims has harmed America's international reputation. He suggested that the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza would not have emerged had he remained in power.

Trump has also asserted that he maintained positive relations with all world leaders, including Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, claiming he can swiftly resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict if elected to a second presidential term in November.

Biden and Harris, on the other hand, have accused Trump of undermining NATO and being ineffective against Russia. “Our NATO allies are so thankful that you are no longer president,” Harris remarked during a recent televised debate with Trump.
