Trump ally denies 'enemies-list' rumor as false
Congressman Byron Donalds has argued that the president-elect is focused solely on Americans and on addressing their primary concerns.

Florida Congressman Byron Donalds told Fox News on Sunday that President-elect Donald Trump does not have a blacklist of individuals he supposedly plans to punish upon taking office.

Speculation among some US officials and media outlets suggests that Trump harbors a "vendetta against people that he believes have crossed him" and that he intends to pursue his critics and those he perceives as enemies.

Michael Bromwich, a former inspector general at the US Department of Justice, commented on this topic ahead of the November 5 election, stating, “There’s never been a set of threats like this made by a candidate for president of the United States,” referencing Trump's victory over his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris.

However, Congressman Donalds dismissed these fears, emphasizing that Trump has never indicated any intention to make it a priority to prosecute his detractors.

“For the American people who have been listening to these lies from the Democratic left, I will tell you: This is not something that Donald Trump has ever spoken to, or he’s committed to, whatsoever. There’s no ‘enemies list’,” Donalds stated on Fox News.

The Republican representative stressed that Trump’s focus is not on punishing his critics but rather on helping the American public and addressing key issues such as securing the US-Mexico border, deporting illegal immigrants, and enhancing the economy and energy supply.

“His focus is the American people, not some ‘enemies list’,” insisted Donalds.

Throughout various rallies, press interviews, and social media activities, Trump has frequently referred to a group within the US government that he describes as “radical-left lunatics,” claiming that they act against the nation's best interests.

In a podcast conversation with Joe Rogan, Trump asserted that these “enemies within” pose a greater threat to the US than some foreign adversaries.

Nevertheless, Trump has rejected the Democratic party's concerns regarding potential prosecution of political opponents. He pointed out that following his 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton, he ultimately chose not to pursue legal action against her, reasoning that it would have “looked terrible” for the country.

He has accused the Biden-Harris administration of weaponizing the US Department of Justice to target its opponents, including Trump himself.

Earlier this year, a Manhattan jury found the Republican candidate guilty on 34 felony counts related to alleged hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels and to his involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill riots.
