SANA described the incident as an "aerial act of aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan," noting that the attack resulted in the deaths of several civilians, including women and children.
In a statement released on Monday, foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei expressed strong condemnation of what he termed the "aggressive attack by the Zionist regime" and criticized international organizations for their perceived inaction regarding Israeli airstrikes.
Typically, the Israel Defense Forces do not confirm nor deny their involvement in such operations.
Baghaei further called on the international community to implement "practical and effective measures against the Zionist regime," which include proposing an arms embargo, expelling Israel from the United Nations, and holding its leaders accountable. He indicated that Israel conducts operations against Syrian, Lebanese, and Palestinian regions without fear of repercussions, citing its "unconditional support" from the U.S. and certain European nations, whom he labeled as "accomplices in the genocide and war crimes committed" in Gaza and across the region.
Earlier this month, Malaysia prepared a draft resolution for the United Nations General Assembly advocating for Israel's removal from the organization due to its actions in Palestine.
As tensions heighten with Iran amidst an ongoing military campaign against Hamas in Gaza, Israel's relations with the UN have soured. In early October, West Jerusalem declared UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres persona non grata, alleging he failed to adequately condemn a prior Iranian missile attack on Israel. Following the attack, Guterres had issued a statement on X, condemning the escalation of conflict in the Middle East.
In response to Israel's actions concerning Guterres, over 100 UN member states have signed a letter denouncing the move, asserting that "such actions undermine the United Nations’ ability to carry out its mandate, which includes mediating conflicts and providing humanitarian support."
