Shanxi Halts Shandong's 11-Game Home Winning Streak with Late Jumper
The Shanxi Loongs triumphed over the Shandong Kylins 120-119 in a thrilling road game in Jinan, located in east China's Shandong Province, on Thursday night, effectively ending the Kylins' impressive 11-game home winning streak.

Shandong fell behind early, trailing 7-1 within the first three minutes of the match. American guard Jamar Gulley quickly made his mark by scoring nine consecutive points. The game remained tightly contested, with the first quarter ending in a 26-26 tie.

As the second quarter began, Shanxi experienced an offensive slump lasting six minutes, managing to score only three points. During this period, the Kylins outscored them 15-3, forcing the Loongs to overcome a double-digit deficit.

Brandon Goodwin and Hamidou Diallo began penetrating the paint more frequently, while Zhang Ning contributed significantly by completing a four-point play for the Loongs. After a layup from Goodwin and Zhang, the visitors narrowed the gap and trailed 52-51 at halftime.

After the break, several Shanxi players found their shooting rhythm from beyond the arc. Xing Zhiqiang joined Zhang and Goodwin in connecting on three-pointers, pushing the Loongs ahead by eight points, 72-64. However, Dallas Moore teamed up with Gulley to help the Kylins regain the lead, 119-118, with about 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

As Shandong concentrated its defensive efforts on Goodwin and Zhang, an open Jia Mingru received the ball in the corner, executed a pump fake to evade Marquese Chriss, and nailed a long jumper. This clutch shot lifted Shanxi back on top at 120-119 with just 0.2 seconds remaining, leaving Shandong with no time to respond.

In a separate matchup, the Beikong Royal Fighters narrowly defeated the Jiangsu Dragons 96-95 on the road, extending the Dragons' losing streak to five games.

Liao Sanning delivered a standout performance for Beikong, coming off the bench to score 26 points. Jiangsu narrowed the deficit to one point at 96-95 with 26 seconds left and had an opportunity to take the lead after blocking Zhu Songwei's layup. However, Liu Zexi committed a turnover on the Dragons' final possession. Despite last season's Best International Player Jared Sullinger missing both of his free throws, the Royal Fighters secured a narrow one-point victory.
