Trump criticizes 'dishonest' CBS following Zelensky interview
US President Donald Trump has called for CBS News to have its broadcasting license revoked, accusing the network of disseminating politically biased misinformation in its reporting on the Ukraine conflict and the US’s interest in purchasing Greenland.

In a post on Truth Social on Monday, Trump criticized CBS after it aired an interview with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and a segment that revisited his controversial proposal to acquire Greenland.

During the interview with Zelensky, the network suggested that Trump had aimed to exclude Ukraine from peace talks with Russia, implying he "rewrote history, saying, falsely, that Ukraine had started the war and calling… Zelensky ‘a dictator without elections.’”

Trump's “dictator” remark from February was in reference to the expiration of Zelensky’s presidential term last year and his refusal to call a new election, citing martial law. However, Trump has since moderated his tone regarding the Ukrainian leader.

CBS's coverage of Greenland highlighted the purported hesitance of the island’s residents to join the United States.

“Almost every week, 60 Minutes… mentions the name ‘TRUMP’ in a derogatory and defamatory way, but this Weekend’s ‘BROADCAST’ tops them all,” Trump remarked.

He went on to assert, “They did not one, but TWO, major stories on ‘TRUMP,’ one having to do with Ukraine, which I say is a War that would never have happened if the 2020 Election had not been RIGGED… and, the other story was having to do with Greenland, casting our Country, as led by me, falsely, inaccurately, and fraudulently.”

“They are not a ‘News Show,’ but a dishonest Political Operative simply disguised as ‘News,’ and must be responsible for what they have done, and are doing,” Trump continued. “They should lose their license!”

The president insisted that CBS “should pay a big price” for being “out of control,” referencing a previous clash with the network over a heavily edited interview with Kamala Harris, his main Democratic rival leading up to the November election.

The controversy surrounding the Harris interview erupted in October when CBS aired two different versions of her remarks on the Middle East conflict—one lengthy and convoluted, and the other much clearer and more concise.

In response, Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS, labeling the interview “word salad” and accusing the network of "deceitful, deceptive manipulation of news" and bias toward the Democratic Party. CBS acknowledged editing the interview but denied that it was an attempt to alter its content.
