Elon Musk Selected for Role in White House
President-elect Donald Trump has revealed that entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will oversee the newly established Department of Government Efficiency during his upcoming term.

“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies,” Trump stated on Tuesday.

In the announcement, Musk remarked that “this will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!”

The statement described the new department as having the potential to be “The Manhattan Project of our time,” drawing a parallel to the WWII-era initiative that resulted in the development of the first atomic bomb.

Trump noted that Musk will lead DOGE while “working in conjunction” with Ramaswamy, although specific job titles for the new roles were not disclosed.

In September, Trump had promised to appoint Musk to a “government efficiency commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government, and making recommendations for drastic reforms.”

Musk, the world’s richest individual and head of SpaceX, Tesla, and X, declared his support for Trump shortly after a failed assassination attempt in July and was active in campaigning for him as Election Day on November 5 approached.

Following the announcement on Tuesday, Musk posted on X, stating, “Threat to democracy? Nope, threat to BUREAUCRACY!!!”

Ramaswamy, who founded the pharmaceutical company Roivant Sciences and initially sought the Republican Party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential race, ultimately withdrew and endorsed Trump.
