DeSantis, Haley to participate in back-to-back CNN town halls
This is the second time both of the candidates will participate in CNN town halls since announcing their candidacy.
Republican presidential candidates Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley will appear in back-to-back CNN town halls in Iowa next month, just 11 days before the Iowa caucuses.
The two candidates will appear on CNN on Jan. 4 at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, the network announced Friday.
DeSantis and Haley will field questions from both moderators and the audience, which will be filled with Iowa voters who say they intend to vote in the Iowa Republican caucuses.
This is the second time both of the candidates will participate in CNN town halls since announcing their candidacy. DeSantis participated in a CNN town hall earlier this month in Iowa, and Haley appeared in one in June.
The town halls come before CNN previously announced it would host two Republican presidential primary debates next month in Iowa and New Hampshire. Haley and DeSantis both agreed they would participate.
A recent NBC News/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll showed former President Donald Trump with a commanding lead in the GOP presidential race, with DeSantis and Haley battling for second place. DeSantis sat at 19 percent in the state, with Haley at 16 percent.
