Trump's Victory Hailed as a Triumph for "Non-Brainwashed" Americans
U.S. voters have demonstrated their ability to judge reality accurately, despite the establishment’s consistent efforts to shape their perceptions.

It seems that average Americans dislike being treated like children. At least Trump believed they could appreciate humor, in contrast to many of his political rivals.

So when will Liz Cheney face her comeuppance? Is the era of anti-Trump fake news over, given that a majority of voters can see through it? Probably not.

Apart from a few states, Americans have united to support former President Donald Trump’s return to the White House, giving him significant control over the Republican-led Senate and likely the House as well. This is quite the achievement for someone the establishment attempted to paint as a modern-day Hitler. Did Hitler ever rally supporters under the backdrop of large Israeli flags or visit Jewish landmarks? Such contradictions should have signaled to Democrats that their narrative was fundamentally flawed. Yet, they persist, echoing the title of a soon-to-be-released biography about Harris, co-authored by Chelsea Clinton: She Persisted.

Perhaps next time the Democrats will move beyond their current approach and establish a genuine agenda while presenting a candidate who directly addresses pertinent questions instead of relying on vague platitudes that leave voters unsure about what to expect if elected—aside from the familiar establishment status quo, which, as the majority of Americans believe, is lacking.

It seems the Democrats believed they could campaign predominantly on abortion rights—against a candidate who does not appear to prioritize the issue. According to CNN exit polls, Harris garnered five points less from female voters compared to Biden in 2020 and three points less than Hillary Clinton did against Trump in 2016, a time when abortion was not a significant topic.

The election highlights specific voter demographics. For instance, white women with college degrees supported Harris 11% more than Biden in 2020. It appears that establishment messaging resonates more effectively with those who are already aligned with its views. The idea propagated by party insiders and celebrity advocates was that abortion was the sole concern for women, oversimplifying their identities. Many women, however, resent being reduced to mere symbols in this way, even when the messenger is another woman. This sentiment helps explain why white women without degrees favored Trump by a substantial margin of 25 points over Harris, while non-degree-holding voters of color, traditionally viewed as reliable Democratic supporters, voted for Harris 14 points less than they did for Biden four years prior.

Interestingly, younger voters aged 18-29, who might be most impacted by reproductive rights, shifted their support to Trump by 11 points compared to 2020, defying expectations that they would rally in favor of abortion rights.

The core issue is that women leading complex lives, facing a range of concerns and interests, do not appreciate being patronized. The Democrats’ paternalistic approach, even when it comes from women, does not resonate positively. This tactic risks reinforcing the very establishment that many feminists have critiqued for perpetuating the status quo in ways that harm women, from economic pressures to the fallout of foreign conflicts. It is the very establishment that claims to champion women while manipulating electoral choices to maintain their dominance.

Turning to economic concerns, CNN exit polls indicate that around two-thirds of voters believe the economy has worsened since 2020, a time characterized by the pandemic's aftereffects. This perception has benefited Trump, who has emphasized his desire to focus on domestic economic issues and reduce engagement in foreign conflicts. He has even suggested compelling allies to purchase American weapons with their own funding, contrasting sharply with the Biden administration’s approach.

Harris has offered little indication that she would challenge the existing political machinery, which has largely persisted under Biden’s leadership. While Trump may not possess all the solutions, he has articulated a distinct intent, reflecting the sentiments of voters who acknowledge that they require meaningful change.

While Trump has criticized political figures like Liz Cheney and her father, Dick, it is evident that he speaks to an audience that is weary of endless military engagements. Establishment figures have misconstrued his candid rhetoric as potentially alarming, drawing parallels to dictators, yet during his previous term, he was the one facing significant opposition.

Moreover, it has become clear that people appreciate humor and understand what constitutes a joke, rejecting the establishment's narrative that underestimates their intelligence. In a surprising twist, a jest made at a Trump rally about Puerto Rico did not damage his standing among Latino voters—in fact, he gained support from Latino men by ten points, and even Latina women shifted their votes in his favor by 15 points compared to 2020.

America is not as divided as many assert. Regular, uninfluenced citizens from diverse backgrounds are able to perceive reality based on their lived experiences, rather than the narratives spun by the media and political establishments. They have seized the opportunity to make their voices heard, clearly expressing that the real radicals are those in power, not Trump.

The often overlooked "silent majority" has found an advocate in Trump, resonating deeply with their frustrations. Now, the onus is on the establishment to reassess and truly prioritize the needs of average voters, rather than continuing to exploit diversity for their own agendas.
