Trump Appoints Youngest-Ever Press Secretary in US History
Karoline Leavitt will serve as the White House press secretary in President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming administration. Announced as the spokesperson for his 2024 campaign, Leavitt, at just 27 years old, will become the youngest individual to hold this position.

In a statement released on Friday, Trump commended Leavitt for her contributions to his campaign, saying, “Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign. She is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again.”

Leavitt previously served as assistant press secretary during Trump’s first term under Kayleigh McEnany, who is now a well-known Fox News host. In her social media announcement, she expressed her appreciation to Trump, stating, “Thank you, President Trump, for believing in me. I am humbled and honored. Let’s MAGA!”

With this appointment, Leavitt will surpass Ron Ziegler, who was 29 when he was appointed during Richard Nixon’s administration in the 1970s, making her the youngest press secretary in recent history. Prior to her role in Trump’s 2024 campaign, she worked as a senior aide to Rep. Elise Stefanik, whom Trump has recently nominated for the position of ambassador to the United Nations.
