Supporters of Donald Trump are gearing up to seize upon Joe Biden’s recent difficulties.

A prolific super PAC with ties to Miriam Adelson, a prominent Republican contributor, is planning a $61 million TV and digital ad campaign against Biden. The move follows criticisms within the Democratic party directed at Biden after a troubled debate performance.

The commercials, funded by Preserve America, will be broadcasted later this month to coincide with the start of the Summer Olympics, aiming to reach a broad audience, a source trusted with the details of the plan shared anonymously. Airing until Labor Day, these adverts target three key battleground states in the Rust Belt: Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

News of this major advertising drive is revealed as Trump prepares to intensify his attacks on Biden. Trump has scheduled events including a Tuesday rally in Doral, Florida, a Saturday gathering in Butler County, Pennsylvania, and a Monday appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show — the first major interview since the heated debate.

There is also speculation regarding Trump's choice of running mate, a decision that has been closely guarded. However, the exact date for this announcement has not been confirmed yet.

Despite keeping a low profile since the June 27 debate and letting Biden’s performance monopolize media coverage, Trump is now reclaiming the narrative. For example, his team presented the agenda for the Republican National Convention next week, which will spotlight Biden’s track record on crime and national security.

Recently, Trump and his campaign have publicly reveled in the strife within the Democratic party. The ex-president shared negative headlines about Biden on Truth Social, and his campaign has capitalized on rumors that Vice President Kamala Harris might replace Biden.

Fundraising emails with the provocative subjects, “Biden is dropping out!” and “President Kamala Harris?” were issued.

Trump is also witnessing support from external allies.

Taylor Budowich, CEO of Make America Great Again, a super PAC backing Trump, submitted an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal headlined “Sorry, Democrats, Biden Is Your Man”. Further, MAGA Inc. PAC has been dispersing polls and headlines about Biden.

Preserve America, starting its ad onslaught post-convention, revealed plans back in May to revive the organization, which actively worked to support Trump in the 2020 election. Around 85% of the funds raised that year came from the Adelsons. It is assumed that Adelson will continue as a major contributor and that the organization aims to surpass their 2020 donation of $100 million. The campaign strategy is more assertive than it was four years ago.

The group's fundraising efforts have so far engaged around 50 donors.

The ad campaign will highlight issues such as immigration, national security, and the economy.

“Joe Biden and his hard left allies have elevated the cost of living, enabled terrorists to cross our border, and failed our veterans,” stated Dave Carney, a senior adviser for Preserve America. “We're determined to keep them in check to prevent further damage to our country in the next four years.”

Preserve America is one of three Trump-supporting super PACs expected to significantly contribute to the campaign. MAGA Inc., led by Taylor Budowich, disclosed a $100 million media spending strategy focusing on four battleground states. The two PACs are coordinating to prevent redundancies, as per a source familiar with the interactions.

Right for America, another pro-Trump super PAC with primary funding from former Marvel Entertainment executive Ike Perlmutter, has yet to declare its expenditure plan.
