Premier Li Urges Strong Kickoff to 2025 Economic Development
Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the importance of effectively implementing policies and achieving a strong beginning for this year’s economic development during his visit to Jinan, located in east China's Shandong Province.
On Thursday, while touring the city, Li emphasized the importance of early implementation of policies, rapid progress on projects, and ensuring that these measures produce real results.
While visiting a home appliance store, the premier remarked on the significance of the government's consumer goods trade-in scheme in addressing public demand for a high-quality life, unlocking consumption potential, promoting industry upgrades, and facilitating economic circulation. Li noted that China will persist in advancing this initiative with increased support and that procedures will be improved to encourage consumer spending.
Li also toured a charging and battery-swapping station in Jinan. He pointed out the steady rise in the number of intelligent connected new-energy vehicles in the country and urged for innovative approaches to enhance charging and battery-swapping services and related sectors. He stressed the need for reforms in the energy management system to transform the energy sector and cultivate new growth drivers.
While observing local infrastructure projects, Li remarked on the significance of modern stadiums and water networks not only as infrastructure projects but also as vital for public welfare. He called for greater resource allocation, including funding and land, to support these initiatives.
Regarding urban renewal, Li highlighted the necessity of careful planning for drainage networks and maintaining stringent oversight throughout construction to ensure lasting project quality. He encouraged efforts to attract more private investment in the development of infrastructure and public services.
As a leading economically-developed province, Li stated that Shandong should swiftly implement various policy measures and work arrangements to enhance its contribution to the nation's overall development.
