Multiple fatalities in ‘terrorist attack’ in Türkiye
The headquarters of a defense and aerospace company near Ankara was attacked, resulting in several fatalities and injuries, according to Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.

“A terrorist attack was carried out against the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. Ankara Kahramankazan facilities,” Yerlikaya stated in a post on X. “Unfortunately, we have martyrs and injured people after the attack.”

The minister did not provide additional details but indicated that more information would be shared soon.

Video footage circulating on social media depicted an explosion at the facility, with gunfire audible in some recordings. Clips show multiple gunmen wielding rifles fitted with suppressors.

Reports from Turkish media confirm the incident, with explosions and gunfire reported in the capital.

Türkiye’s NTV broadcaster reported that a group of assailants arrived at the facility via taxi during a security personnel shift change. The network claimed that at least one individual detonated a bomb while others entered the building.

According to NTV, hostages were taken by the attackers. Unverified images circulating on social media purportedly show around a dozen individuals held captive inside the building.

TUSAS, the company targeted, is involved in manufacturing F-16 fighter jets under license from General Dynamics, alongside a variety of avionics and aircraft components for both civilian and military applications. Additionally, it produces jets, attack helicopters, and drones for the Turkish military. The Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, a state-run military research and procurement entity, is its largest shareholder.
