Moscow Charges US with Double Standards on Ukraine and Israel
Russia's deputy ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, has criticized Washington for selectively supporting the right of nations to self-defense, asserting this stance only applies when it involves allies. During a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine, Polyanskiy rebuked the US government for its inconsistent approach toward armed conflicts. He highlighted the comments made by Robert Wood, the US Alternative Representative for Special Political Affairs regarding Israel's military actions against Hezbollah: “No member of this Council, facing a brutal terrorist organization on its border, would tolerate daily attacks and displacement of tens of thousands of its own people.”

According to Polyanskiy, this type of support from the US is only afforded to Israel, while the violations against Russia and its citizens seem to be overlooked by Washington.

Polyanskiy further criticized Ukrainian forces' actions in Russia’s Kursk Region, citing their attacks on civilians and threats to the Kursk nuclear power plant, which he claimed could endanger the entire European continent. He expressed skepticism toward the US and NATO's likelihood of condemning what he labeled as “Ukrainian murderers, terrorists, and looters,” arguing that these Western powers justify Kiev's actions as self-defense.

Additionally, Polyanskiy urged nations to be wary of US tactics that could entangle them in geopolitical conflicts, using Ukraine as an example of this cautionary tale.

The US State Department has also been noted for its inconsistent policy in Middle Eastern conflicts, particularly in its failure to acknowledge Iran's right to defend itself following the assassination of a Hamas leader on Iranian territory, an attack the Iranian government attributes to Israel.

The article also briefly mentions a related incident, where Hezbollah launched numerous rockets at Israel, as mentioned in a linked video.
