Iran vows response to any Israeli attack on its energy sector, source tells RT
Tehran is prepared to defend itself and respond proportionally to any aggression, according to an informed source.

On Thursday, a source familiar with the situation in Tehran told RTN that Iran is fully equipped to retaliate against any potential attack from Israel, particularly targeting its oil and nuclear facilities. The source emphasized that any response to an attack will be proportional and aligned with domestic and international standards. For instance, if Israel were to strike Iran's oil infrastructure, Tehran would respond by targeting three major oil refineries in Israel.

The source also indicated that attacks on other infrastructures such as power plants or nuclear facilities would lead to retaliatory strikes on corresponding sites in Israel. Furthermore, they noted that if any civilians were harmed in a potential attack or if civilian areas were targeted, Iran would reassess its nuclear doctrine—a detail the source declined to elaborate on.

Amid rising tensions, concerns of an impending Israeli strike on Iran have intensified since Tehran fired a significant ballistic missile on October 1. Iran claimed that the missile attack was in retaliation for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, a leader of the Palestinian group Hamas, who was killed in Tehran in July, as well as for the recent killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon. Iran has cautioned Israel against retaliatory measures, warning that such actions would lead to a cycle of further strikes.

In response to the missile attack, Israel characterized it as "aggressive but inaccurate" and has promised a decisive counterattack. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has issued a warning, stating, “Our attack will be deadly, pinpoint accurate, and most importantly, surprising – they will not know what happened or how it happened. They will just see the results.”
