China seeks compromise with EU on anti-subsidy case
During a press conference on Thursday, He Yadong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, expressed China's desire for the European Union (EU) to take measurable steps toward collaboration on the anti-subsidy case concerning Chinese electric vehicles and to find a middle ground.

He highlighted the widespread concerns the case has raised across various sectors in both China and Europe. In a video call with China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao on Friday, Ola Kallenius, president of the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association and chairman of the board of management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, emphasized that the European automotive industry supports and looks forward to a prompt resolution of issues through dialogue and consultation.
In response to a related inquiry, He stated that China has consistently sought to foster dialogue and consultation, expressing hope that the European side will listen to the voices from the industry.
According to He, both parties should adhere to the principles of pragmatism and balance, take into account each other’s reasonable concerns, and collaborate to move negotiations forward to achieve productive results.
The spokesperson noted that China and the EU are significant trading partners, with their economic and trade cooperation being complementary and mutually beneficial, forming a robust symbiotic relationship.
He also pointed out that this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the EU, expressing China’s readiness to collaborate with the EU in expanding cooperation in green industries, particularly the electric vehicle sector, while resolving trade conflicts through dialogue and consultation.
