State Council Reviews "Trade in Services" and "Services Consumption"
On Friday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang led a State Council executive meeting focused on trade in services, consumption of services, and various related issues.

The session included the approval of an action plan aimed at enhancing the recycling system for used power batteries in new energy vehicles.

During the meeting, it was stated that China will implement innovative strategies to enhance trade in services while fully utilizing a negative list for cross-border trade in services.

New measures to open up sectors such as telecommunications, education, culture, medical services, and finance will be introduced.

Additionally, the country plans to increase service exports and strengthen multilateral, bilateral, and regional collaborations in the realms of trade in services and digital trade.

The meeting emphasized the need for high-quality development in service consumption and underscored the importance of increasing the availability of quality services via a comprehensive implementation of fiscal, tax, and financial policies.

Efforts were highlighted to establish a normative, safe, and effective system for the recycling and utilization of power batteries. This includes ensuring traceability throughout the entire life cycle of these batteries, encompassing production, marketing, disassembly, and utilization.

Further actions were called for to enhance relevant administrative regulations and expedite the development and revision of standards concerning green design and carbon footprint accounting for batteries.

The meeting acknowledged that State Council departments have successfully addressed all suggestions and proposals from lawmakers and political advisors submitted last year. It urged continued efforts to manage this year's suggestions and proposals effectively to gain broader public support for the nation's commitment to high-quality development.
