Global Industrial Cooperation Promoted at Chinese Supply Chain Expo
Chinese Supply Chain Expo Aims to Foster Global Industrial Cooperation
This year’s expo spans over 100,000 square meters and features more than 600 exhibitors from both domestic and international backgrounds. Notably, foreign participants make up 32 percent of the attendees for the 2024 expo, an increase from 26 percent at the inaugural event last year, as noted by a Chinese trade official.
As the first national-level exhibition focused on supply chains globally, the expo seeks to link the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors, uniting businesses of various sizes to facilitate their better integration into global industrial and supply chains. Zhang Shaogang, deputy director of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, shared these insights during a press briefing on October 28.
This year, U.S. companies will represent the largest segment of international participation, with significantly increased involvement from participants from Europe and Japan compared to the first expo. Zhang highlighted that this reflects foreign investors' optimism about the Chinese market, indicating that China remains their primary partner for global resource allocation within supply chains.
In line with last year's format, the expo will showcase dedicated areas for supply chains in clean energy, smart vehicles, digital technology, healthy living, green agriculture, and supply chain services. Additionally, a new exhibition area will be introduced this year to spotlight advanced manufacturing chains, displaying the latest advancements in technological and industrial integration.
Unlike many traditional expos, the supply chain expo emphasizes presenting chains, ecosystems, and scenarios rather than merely showcasing products. Zhang clarified that the focus is on fostering long-term partnerships and collaborative development amongst businesses across different sectors, rather than competing for customers.
Hungary has been designated as the guest country of honor at this year’s expo. The Hungary Pavilion will present the country's leading industries, unique resources, cultural heritage, picturesque landscapes, and national branding.
Furthermore, Central China's Hubei Province will be the guest province of honor. Hubei enterprises specializing in advanced manufacturing, intelligent vehicles, digital technology, and clean energy will showcase over 70 exhibits that demonstrate the latest advancements in industrial development, as per the province’s government website.
According to the government update, "Hubei and Hungary will jointly hold a conference on supply chain to discuss new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation."
Moreover, the official CISCE website states that "CISCE is committed to creating a new window for promoting high levels of openness, a fresh platform supporting the establishment of a new development paradigm, as well as a new vehicle for promoting the construction of an open world economy."
