Liverpool must wait a few more days to officially be crowned Premier League champions, despite securing a 1-0 win against Leicester City. This is due to Arsenal keeping their slim title hopes alive with a convincing 4-0 victory over 10-man Ipswich Town on Sunday.

At the King Power Stadium, Trent Alexander-Arnold came off the bench to net the decisive goal in the 76th minute, extending Liverpool's lead at the top of the table to 13 points with five matches remaining.

While Liverpool is on the verge of claiming their 20th English crown, which would match the record, Leicester's loss confirmed their relegation back to the Championship after just one season. This marks the Midlands club's record 13th relegation from England's top tier.

Liverpool struggled with their finishing at Leicester, failing to convert several opportunities, and Mohamed Salah had a particularly frustrating afternoon, hitting both posts early on.

Salah struck the woodwork again shortly before Alexander-Arnold collected the ball and fired a left-footed shot through a crowd of players for the winning goal, celebrating passionately with the traveling supporters.

"We just keep going, mentally we're really strong," commented manager Arne Slot to Sky Sports. "They enjoy playing football and it helps when you are playing for something special. Today [he] knows when it matters most he can just bring a bit more, which is something all the top, top players have."

If Arsenal manages to avoid defeat against Crystal Palace, Slot's team will clinch the title with a win over Tottenham Hotspur at home next Sunday.

"We will focus on Tottenham and looking forward again to a home game, and I think the stadium will be full," Slot stated. "It's a nice game to look forward to."

Currently, Liverpool is leading the table with 79 points, while Arsenal trails significantly in second place with 66 points. Although Arsenal may be eyeing a UEFA Champions League semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain, their performance against Ipswich demonstrates they won’t relinquish the title fight easily.
