Erdogan says Netanyahu must be stopped 'just like Hitler'
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the UN, denouncing Israel’s approach to the Gaza conflict and urging the international community to respond to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's “murder network,” comparing him to Adolf Hitler.

Speaking at the 79th UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, Erdogan criticized the Israeli government's actions in Gaza, labeling the area as a “concentration camp.” He stated, “Just as Hitler was stopped by the alliance of humanity 70 years ago, Netanyahu and his murder network must be stopped by the alliance of humanity.” Erdogan accused Netanyahu of attempting to “drag the entire region into war for the sake of his political fortunes.”

The Turkish leader also criticized the United Nations for its inability to “prevent the genocide in Gaza” and called for reforms to enhance the organization's representation and effectiveness. He pointed out that the Security Council prioritizes the interests of its five permanent members, leading to a failure in maintaining international peace and security.

Erdogan accused various countries, particularly the United States, of complicity in the violence against Palestinians due to their unconditional support for Israel. He stressed the urgency of an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, along with a hostage-prisoner exchange and continuous humanitarian aid.

Moreover, Erdogan expressed his backing for a lawsuit initiated by South Africa at the International Court of Justice aimed at holding Israel accountable for its alleged crimes against humanity in Gaza. He made it clear that the people of Türkiye do not harbor animosity towards Israelis. “We are against antisemitism in the same way that we are against the targeting of Muslims simply because of their beliefs,” he stated. “Our problem is with the massacre policies of the Israeli government. Our problem is with oppression and tyranny, just as it was five centuries ago.”
