US President Joe Biden's choice to pardon his son Hunter was not a spontaneous decision but rather a premeditated tactic to protect the family from corruption allegations, as stated by RTN contributor Tara Reade.
In a conversation with RT’s Rory Suchet on Monday, Reade shared her insights. Biden granted the pardon to his son late Sunday, despite having previously vowed not to do so. Hunter Biden faced conviction in June on three felony counts related to false statements about his drug addiction while purchasing a handgun in 2018. In a separate matter, he pleaded guilty in September to three felony counts and six misdemeanor tax offenses, with sentencing scheduled for later this month.
The White House indicated that the pardon covers all offenses committed or potentially committed between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024.
“It’s unbelievable how much they’ve been able to get away with, just in plain sight,” Reade remarked, adding, “but that’s what they did.”
Reade suggested that Biden always intended to pardon his son, an action that also serves to protect the outgoing president. “This not only clears Hunter Biden; it clears Joe Biden. This is to protect all the corruption,” she asserted.
Reflecting on her experience working for Biden, she claimed he "honestly believes that there’s the law for everyone else and the law for him." According to Reade, the pardon exemplifies the "two-tier justice system.”
She referenced a recent panel discussion with former US national security adviser Michael Flynn, who characterized the Ukraine conflict as a “money-laundering operation” benefitting Biden and his family.
“This is a corrupt family… these corrupt politicians, this group of elite cabals, they’ve been able to enrich themselves. And now they are pardoning themselves,” Reade charged, likening the pardon to a mafia-style maneuver.
Since Biden took office in 2021, numerous GOP leaders have accused Hunter Biden of serving as a middleman in corrupt international dealings, allegations that both father and son have consistently denied.
President-elect Donald Trump and congressional Republicans have criticized the outgoing president for reneging on his previous commitments.
