Wang Yi states China's dedication to continuing high-level opening up
China is dedicated to advancing through significant openness and aims to maintain a business environment that emphasizes market orientation, adherence to the law, and international standards. Additionally, the country plans to enhance high-quality cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative and implement the Global Development Initiative, as stated by Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Wednesday.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, spoke at an event hosted by the Foreign Ministry to showcase the Hainan Free Trade Port to a global audience. He noted that the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port is gaining momentum, with a growing number of regional and international enterprises choosing to invest and operate in the area, creating a vibrant environment characterized by openness and progress.
According to Wang, the Hainan Free Trade Port represents a new frontier for China's institutional opening up, serves as a significant hub for mutually beneficial regional cooperation, and acts as a driving force for economic globalization. He remarked, "Seeing is believing, and everyone is welcome to visit Hainan and gain firsthand experience."
Wang reiterated China's commitment to development principles that are open, innovative, green, inclusive, and peaceful. He stated, "Choosing China means choosing opportunities, and embracing China means embracing the future."
The event also featured presentations from key officials from Hainan province, attended by over 500 participants, including diplomats and officials from more than 160 countries, representatives from international organizations, government officials, and media representatives, as well as members from various enterprises and international trade associations.
In June 2020, China unveiled a comprehensive plan to transform Hainan into a globally influential and high-level free trade port by the mid-century.
