Ukraine's leader warns that Putin is likely to target NATO countries next
The Ukrainian president has stated that he will reject any peace agreement if his nation is excluded from the discussions.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine will not accept a peace agreement enforced upon it without its input, although he acknowledged that Ukraine’s ability to defeat Russia may be compromised if U.S. support is withdrawn by President Donald Trump.
“We will have low chance — low chance to survive without support of the United States,” Zelenskyy stated during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that aired on Sunday.
In his conversation with host Kristen Welker, Zelenskyy revealed that Ukraine has gathered intelligence suggesting that Russia is planning military training exercises involving approximately 150,000 troops, primarily in Belarus, one of Russia's allies.
He cautioned that these drills might serve as a pretext for potential assaults on NATO countries, particularly Lithuania and Poland, potentially as soon as this summer. However, he clarified that the intelligence did not definitively indicate that Putin would launch actual attacks.
Nevertheless, according to Zelenskyy, Putin harbors significant ambitions, exhibits hostility toward NATO, and is aware of the Trump administration's skepticism regarding the military alliance. Zelenskyy suggested that Putin may perceive this as an opportune moment to act, especially against former Soviet states that are now part of NATO.
Ultimately, “We believe that Putin will wage war against NATO,” Zelenskyy remarked, adding, “I don't know they will want 30 percent of Europe, 50 percent, I don't know. Nobody knows. But they will have this possibility.”
While Trump has expressed intentions for the U.S. to engage in negotiations with Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine, the communication from Trump and his aides has been inconsistent regarding Ukraine's involvement in the discussions.
Zelenskyy reiterated that Ukrainians would not accept a deal without their participation. “I'm sure that we have to be there. Otherwise, it's not acceptable,” he asserted.
He also cautioned Trump about Putin's unreliability, stating, “I said to him, ‘No, he's a liar. He doesn't want any peace.’”
