Trump focused on Democrats who advocate for more lenient policies regarding illegal immigration and strongly promote transgender rights. He asserted that Americans opted for his leadership because the philosophies and policies of his adversaries “are horrible.”
The president criticized former President Joe Biden’s administration for implementing what he described as an “open border policy,” which he labeled a danger to national security and the populace. He deemed this policy unjustifiable, suggesting that supporting it means “you are either stupid or you hate this country.” Trump expressed disbelief that Democrats could be genuinely dumb.
He claimed that the permissive border policies under Biden had enabled tens of thousands of foreign murderers and numerous terrorists to enter the United States. Trump reiterated his belief that some foreign governments were deliberately sending criminals to America, stating that if he were the leader of another nation, he would see no reason not to do that.
On social issues, Trump argued that transgender rights activists are disconnected from mainstream Americans. Voters “don’t want to see a woman get pummeled by a man in a boxing ring,” he remarked, referencing the ongoing debate over transgender athletes in women's sports. He criticized states that endorse gender transition for minors, asserting that no parent would wish to see “a child leave home as a boy and come back two days later as a girl.”
Trump also criticized California's Democratic leadership, drawing comparisons between the severe wildfires in Los Angeles and the impact of a nuclear weapon. He attributed the extensive damage to insufficient funding for fire departments, stating, “The firefighters, who are brave as hell, were fighting without water.” He expressed discontent with the national response, claiming it portrayed America as powerless.
He proposed transferring disaster response responsibilities from the federal government to the states, arguing that the Federal Emergency Management Agency often “stands in the way” due to ineffective leadership in Washington.
