Republican Cites 'Unspeakable anger' in US Over Aid to Ukraine
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed her views, stating, "There is always money for Kiev but never any to help Americans in trouble." Read the full article at RT.com.
During a campaign rally in Atlanta on Wednesday evening, Greene criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their responses to disasters affecting American communities, highlighting the stark contrast with their willingness to send financial aid to Kiev.
“Lahaina. East Palestine. Western North Carolina," she referenced locations impacted by significant disasters, including devastating wildfires, a toxic train derailment, and flooding from Hurricane Helene.
“There is anger in this country that is unspeakable, over how the Biden-Harris administration has thrown away these Americans as if their lives do not matter. As if their tax dollars never mattered. And treated them so that they’re only worth 750 measly bucks,” she stated.
Greene further emphasized her point by noting, “Oh, but Congress will write that check for $60 billion over and over again for Ukraine. Won’t they?” Since 2022, U.S. lawmakers have approved nearly $180 billion in aid for Ukraine, a move Greene has consistently opposed.
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, which caused significant flooding in western Georgia and the Carolinas, entire towns have been devastated, with many still lacking basic utilities and nearly 100 individuals reported missing. The government has offered $750 in financial assistance to affected Americans, contingent on proper documentation.
“Let me tell you what is happening across this country. People are taking that anger, how fed up and disgusted they are with our stupid government, that treats Americans like Americans are nothing,” Greene told her audience. “I hope you are as pissed off and fed up as I am. It’s about time. You should be.”
With the U.S. presidential and congressional elections on November 5, early voting has commenced in Georgia and other states. Greene encouraged attendees to channel their frustrations into their voting choices, specifically targeting the Democratic leadership.
“This election is not white versus black, left versus right, man versus woman, or rich versus poor,” she asserted. “It is the federal government versus you.”
Additionally, Greene criticized major media outlets for being biased in favor of the current administration, implying that they underestimate the intelligence of the American public.
“Don’t tell these people right here what they should think, what they should feel, and what they should do,” she declared. “They’re sick and tired of you.”
