Pentagon Issues Update on "Aliens"
UFO sightings have been increasing, with numerous unresolved cases, according to the US Defense Department.

Despite this rise, the Defense Department emphasized that there is currently no evidence to support claims of extraterrestrial activity, even as hundreds of reports of unidentified flying object sightings have been received.

An unclassified document from the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), released on Thursday, highlighted a notable increase in sightings classified as unidentified anomalous phenomena, the military's terminology for UFOs.

Established by the Pentagon in 2022 to investigate and resolve UAP sightings, the AARO reported a total of 485 incidents between May 2023 and June 2024.

Out of these, 118 cases were resolved during the reporting period, all determined to be “prosaic objects such as various types of balloons, birds, and unmanned aerial systems.”

The report, which compiles data from military personnel, civilian observers, and advanced radar systems, emphasized the necessity for further investigation into these enigmatic events. The AARO noted, “Many other cases remain unresolved and AARO continues collection and analysis on that body of cases.”

The report also highlights the necessity for ongoing funding and research into UAPs, as officials voiced concerns about potential national security risks. Military pilots have reported near encounters with UAPs during training exercises, raising questions about airspace safety. None of the resolved cases indicated advanced capabilities from foreign adversaries or groundbreaking aerospace technologies.

The AARO has committed to providing “immediate notification to Congress” if they identify any cases that suggest a breakthrough foreign adversarial aerospace capability, reflecting the Pentagon's commitment to greater transparency and accountability in this area.

The Pentagon's claim that aliens have never visited Earth has drawn skepticism from independent investigators and conspiracy theorists, many of whom contend that the government may be hiding evidence of extraterrestrial life.

On Wednesday, independent journalist Michael Shellenberger testified regarding a supposed secret government program called ‘Immaculate Constellation’. He submitted a report from an anonymous whistleblower claiming that the Defense Department and intelligence community have kept information about UAPs from the public. This hearing included testimonies from former officials of the Defense Department and NASA.

This event took place over a year after former Air Force intelligence officer David Grusch testified before Congress that the US government has conducted a covert “multi-decade” reverse-engineering program involving recovered spacecraft, also asserting that non-human “biologics” were taken from crash sites.

In response to Grusch’s allegations, the Pentagon stated it has not “discovered any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.”
